Short facts

Saxon Switzerland National Park Information Centre

The historic log cabin at the famous Brandaussicht viewpoint has been renovated and converted into an information centre for the Saxon Switzerland National Park. A new, modern and family-friendly exhibition has been created here.

The newly restored relief model by artist Irmgard Uhlig offers a bird's eye view of the national park region. Interesting information on the mountains, waters and sights depicted can be called up via interactive screen presentations. You can also find out about the Polenz Valley and its special features.

The "children's corner" of the exhibition entices visitors with a foray into the world of birds. Children can learn how our native bird species are tied to very specific habitats in a playful way on the screen and with the help of animal specimens.
There is a unique opportunity to enjoy an outstanding view over the rocky landscape of the national park right next to the log cabin. You can only reach the view, inn and log cabin on foot - ideally from Hohnstein.
