Winter vantage point in the Schrammsteinen
This viewpoint should not be confused with the Bastei and its bridge. But the far-reaching view of the rocks of Saxon Switzerland and the Elbe Valley is just as worth seeing, especially in winter. All year round, hikers can climb the 275-metre-high lookout and take a break on the local bench. The cool, clear air gives you wide views that are not available in summer. You have a clear view of the rocks, which, with a bit of luck, are covered with a thin layer of snow.
Beware, the cool air usually also brings snow and slippery conditions, in these weather conditions it is advisable to hire ice dodgers - for example from the Bad Schandau tourist service.
Please note: The Kleine Bastei Aussicht Schmilka is located in the National Park. This means that only marked paths may be used in the core zone! Fines may be imposed for violations.
