House of flavours in Pirna's old town
In 1880, Ernst Schmole opened a colonial goods shop with a coffee roastery and fruit juice press on this site. The roasting drums are still turning here today, refining selected beans from faraway countries into complex flavour experiences. The recipes for the now more than a dozen coffee varieties are still developed in-house at Schmole and roasted by the master roaster in his own machine.
Colonial goods are no longer sold over the counter, but fine wines and fine chocolates are. And thanks to the adjoining café, connoisseurs can immerse themselves in the world of Saxon and international flavours right here and now. Coffee connoisseurs can not only choose the type of coffee, but even the method of preparation! The oldest coffee roastery in Saxony shares its wealth of knowledge at various gourmet events. Those interested can learn more about the craft of roasting at the show roasting event. Experimental palates will get their money's worth at wine, chocolate and coffee tastings. Be sure to give it a try!
