DDR Museum Pirna

Short facts

Museum for an insight into life in the GDR

The DDR Museum opened its doors for the first time on 16 July 2005. Covering an area of over 700 square metres, it gives you an insight into life in the GDR. There are reports on the work of young pioneers, FDJ members, the NVA and the ABV, which was probably known to almost every member of the family. GDR radio technology is given a permanent place in the exhibition. For all literature enthusiasts, there is a small reading room where you can linger and browse through the exhibits in peace and quiet. A new feature is the vehicle exhibition, which will make the hearts of car and motorbike fans beat faster. "Look, I know this one"

Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed in the museum!"

NEW: "Virtual tour of the museum"

Free parking spaces for buses and cars are available directly at the museum.
