On the edge of Saxon Switzerland, there has been a unique prehistoric park of its kind since 1996. The creator of the Großwelka dinosaur garden and the Kleinwelka dinosaur park continued his life's work in the Sebnitz prehistoric park with passionate dedication and artistic skill.
In a park area of more than 10,000 square metres, winding paths lead into the long past world of our prehistory. Over 400 sculptures can be seen in the prehistoric park. The tour provides an insight into the development of living creatures from water to land. In addition to microorganisms and bacteria enlarged up to 1000 times, there are mammals from the Cenozoic era as well as giant octopuses and prehistoric humans.

The ancestral line of horses is just as fascinating as the Indricotherium, which was the largest mammal to live on land, standing up to 8 metres tall. But insects can also be seen at 100x magnification at Urzeitpark Sebnitz.
