Idyllically situated drinking water reservoir in Gottleuba

The Gottleuba Dam provides drinking water for about 150,000 people in the district of Saxon Switzerland - Osterzgebirge and in Dresden as well as flood protection in the Gottleuba Valley and in Pirna. As a drinking water dam, it cannot be used for tourism; the dam wall is only accessible on guided hikes. Access to the two public lookout points is in the village of Hartmannsbach, directly next to the car park, about 700 metres away.
