Ottendorf Robbery Castle in the Kirnitzsch Valley
Arnstein Rock Castle, also known as Ottendorf Robber's Castle, is an important rock castle in Saxon Switzerland. A whole series of carved-out rooms, the beam supports of the wooden superstructures and the cistern are still preserved today.
This former medieval fortification stood on a rock base before it was captured and thoroughly destroyed in 1451. Old steps, many folds in the rock and mysterious rock carvings are today the remains of a castle that lived on in the consciousness of the people in the surrounding villages as Ottendorf Robber's Castle.
