After arriving in Stadt Wehlen by car or train, we follow the signs to the ferry and cross the Elbe. At the market square, we keep left and finally reach the road to Wehlen. After a short steep climb, we leave this road again immediately (before the first bend) and turn off in the direction of Steinrückenstraße. The next 1000m climb is on a good asphalt surface until we reach a forest path in Wehlener Grund. After a short flat section, the path climbs again shortly before the junction to Uttewalder Grund. Although the path is only slightly uphill, there are some rocky obstacles that make it a little difficult to negotiate. Towards the "Waldidylle" inn and on to the Uttewalder Felsentor, the path narrows more and more into a romantic rocky valley. Once you reach the Uttewalder Felsentor, this is the turning point of the tour for most wheelchair users, as the narrowest part of the gate is only 60 cm wide. After enjoying the well-known motif of the romantic painters of the 18th/19th century, such as Adrian Zingg and Ludwig Richter, we continue our tour and take the path back to the "Waldidylle" inn. After a leisurely break, we head back towards the town of Wehlen. As on the way there, we cross the Uttewalder Grund and finally the Wehlener Grund. There are no more climbs to contend with, but mostly a gentle slope. Shortly before reaching the market square, there is a steep downhill section before we are back in the middle of Stadt Wehlen. After crossing the Elbe on the ferry, our tour comes to an end.
