Off the beaten track, a varied and surprisingly scenic tour awaits you. In summer, a dip in the cool waters of the Goßdorf natural swimming pool provides refreshment. A large, modern playground on the grounds of the natural pool rounds off your visit.
You start directly at the Goßdorf natural swimming pool and from here you head straight to the Gickelsberg. At 414 metres, this is the highest point on the circular hike and, when the weather is fine, provides a magnificent panoramic view, which you can enjoy at the seating area with a small hiking picnic. The ascent is quite steep and you will need some stamina. The route then continues along narrow paths through the forest (please note: GPX should be used here as the path is not always clearly visible) to the Briefträgersteig. Here too, your gaze wanders into the distance, as the views along the way are marvellous. Finally, you reach the Hankehübel. A special panorama awaits you there too, including the Lilienstein and the Schrammsteine. The route then continues through Goßdorf along an information trail to the squirrel created by the local heritage association. In general, it is noticeable that the people of Gossdorf invest a lot of love, effort and time to create an entertaining offer for hikers. If necessary, you can shorten the hike at the former quarry and hike directly to the ‘Goßdorfer Perle’ (approx. 4.5 km total distance). Otherwise, continue on the geological trail along the Kohllichtgraben (yellow line) - which is also part of the Malerweg - until you see a large globe on a hilltop, the so-called ‘Goßdorfer Perle’. A globe painted with motifs from Saxon Switzerland can be set in motion with a great deal of force. On the way back to the natural pool, you walk past historic agricultural machinery, witnesses to a bygone era when the village was still characterised by agriculture.
