A hike from Rathmannsdorf over the Adamsberg to Goßdorf-Kohlmühle offers wonderful panoramic views.

From Rathmannsdorf railway station, you first climb up to what is probably the most futuristic viewing tower in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains - the Rathmannsdorf Tower. Like the launch pad of a moon rocket, the 15 metre high structure stands in the landscape and is accessible via a lift or 81 steps. The platform offers a marvellous view of the Hintere Sächsische Schweiz, the Elbe Valley and the Bastei. At the foot of the tower, a Kneipp pool with ice-cold water invites you to refresh tired arms and legs.

The next stage destination is Wustmanndörfel, from where the Panorama Trail, which lives up to its name, continues to Altendorf. From Adamsberg, the view sweeps from the Affensteine to Königstein Fortress. The last section of the hike takes you steadily downhill to the Goßdorf-Kohlmühle railway station and the impressive industrial monument of an abandoned linoleum factory.
