Heights "Waitzdorfer Höhe"

Those who hike up the Waitzdorfer Höhe (414 m) will be rewarded for their efforts with a good view of the mountains of Saxon Switzerland. The village lies below the Waitzdorfer Höhe - incidentally the only one in the Saxon Switzerland National Park. Waitzdorf has around 50 inhabitants, making it one of the smallest villages in Germany. The small village of Waldhufendorf (after the name Watzmann) appears in written records from 1445.
