I invite you to a winter tour of the Hohnstein region.

I offer 2 alternating tours for you - to admire the special features of nature in its winter dress, marvel at its uniqueness and discover new insights.

The first tour takes you from Hohnstein down into the realm of the dipper in the Polenztal valley. Following the water and enjoying the warming mulled wine, we make our way to Walterdorfer Mühle. Here we cross the cool water and get really warm on the ascent to Brand via Schulzengrund. In the Brandbaude, a warm oven awaits us for a short break with a wonderful panorama of Saxon Switzerland before we head back to Hohnstein.

The second tour also takes us into the realm of the dipper. From here, however, we climb steeply uphill between the rock faces to the Hockstein. A warming mulled wine and a magical view of the Polenztal valley and Hohnstein Castle will warm more than just your heart.
Following the Knotenweg trail, we walk towards Rathen, briefly touching the Amselsee lake and up past the Amselfallbaude chalet towards Rathewalde. The crackling and warming fireplace in the Rathewalder Mühle invites us to stop for a bite to eat. After a little refreshment, we head up to Rathewalde, where we end our tour at the bus stop and have the option of returning to Hohnstein by bus. Optionally, you can also visit the famous Bastei Bridge (approx. 1.5 h extra + € 5.00 per person - please register when booking)
