Fabulous winter hike on wild and romantic paths
At this special place, the hiking guide, Mr. Könemann, opens his rucksack and conjures up mulled wine or punch to chase away the winter chill. Accompanied by an enchanting view of the Polenztal valley and Hohnstein Castle, it not only warms the heart, but also brings the plot of "Der Freischütz" to life.
After this break, the fairytale continues: we follow the Knotenweg trail towards Rathen, accompanied by stories rooted deep in the woods. We touch the picturesque Amselsee and pass the Amselfallbaude before the path leads us directly to the Rathewalder Mühle. There, a crackling fireplace invites us to take a short, cozy break.
Freshly fortified, we continue our way up to Rathewalde, where the tour ends at the bus stop - with the option of returning to Hohnstein in comfort by bus.
