Tour description

  • Day 1: Individual arrival in Dessau
  • Individual arrival or CORSO... transfer service.
  • Day 2: Dessau - Lutherstadt Wittenberg (ca. 40 km)
  • From the Bauhaus city of Dessau, the cycle route leads via Vockerode to Wörlitz and the Wörlitz Park. The Wörlitz Park is a unique garden complex covering more than 100 hectares with many canals, islands, individual gardens and rare plants. Surrounded by flat meadows and untouched nature, the journey continues on the Elbe Cycle Route to Wittenberg, the cradle of the Reformation. A stroll through Wittenberg allows you to follow in Luther's footsteps.
  • Day 3: Lutherstadt Wittenberg - Torgau (approx. 70 km)
  • The route continues along the Elbe to Elster. The cycle path here leads directly along the Elbe through a unique floodplain landscape. After Listerfehrda, the cycle path moves away from the Elbe until it rejoins the river at Klöden. From the small town of Pretzsch, you can already see the Torgau Renaissance Castle from afar. From Pretzsch, the route continues via Priesitz, past the Schifferkirche, to Dommitzsch. From Dommitzsch, you cycle along the Elbe dike to Torgau.
  • 4. day: Torgau - Riesa/Moritz (approx. 50 km)
  • After leaving Torgau, the cycle path leads along fields through small villages to Belgern. On the way to Belgern, you will cycle through the village of Weßnig, which is home to the first German church for cyclists. In Belgern, the almost six-metre-high Roland statue made of Elbsandstein awaits you right next to the town hall. From Strehla, you will cycle along the Elbe Cycle Route to Riesa, which is known for its sports.
  • 5th Day: Riesa/Moritz - Meißen (aprx. 19 mi./30 km)
  • From Diesbar-Seußlitz, you will travel through the picturesque landscape of the Elbe wine villages. The cycle path now follows the Saxon Wine Route. Several cosy wine taverns invite you to linger. In Meissen, we recommend a tour of the porcelain manufactory, the production site of the first European porcelain, with the demonstration workshop and the largest Meissen collection in the world. A stroll through the historic old town and a visit to the cathedral and Albrechtsburg Castle are a perfect way to round off the day.
  • Day 6: Meissen - Dresden (approx. 30 km)
  • On this day, you will continue along the Saxon Wine Route from Meissen, past Coswig, via Radebeul to Dresden. This route is extremely entertaining and very interesting from a cultural and historical point of view. For fans of Karl May, a visit to the Karl May Museum in Radebeul is recommended. When you reach Dresden, you will be greeted by the world-famous city skyline. During a tour of the historic old town, you will get to know 800-year-old Dresden better. The Zwinger Palace, the Royal Palace, the Semper Opera House, the Frauenkirche, the Historic Green Vault and the many museums invite you to visit.
  • Day 7: Dresden - Bad Schandau (approx. 45 km)
  • You leave Dresden and cycle past the three Elbe castles, the famous bridge ‘Blaues Wunder’ to Pillnitz. Visit the former summer residence of the Saxon court - the magnificent Pillnitz Castle. The very artistically designed and extensive park is home to a rarity: a camellia tree that is over 200 years old. Your tour continues to Pirna, a town with a beautiful historic old town centre. After Pirna, you will see the first sandstone rocks and table mountains that give Saxon Switzerland its unique character. Surrounded by the bizarre rock formations of Saxon Switzerland, you will end your tour in Bad Schandau.
  • 8th day: Individual departure from Bad Schandau.
  • Transfer service to Dessau or an additional night in Bad Schandau can be booked on request.
