• For organisational reasons, this hike can only be booked up to 10 days before the date of arrival.
• We recommend sturdy ankle-high hiking boots and a small backpack for food and rain gear.
• A good level of fitness, sure-footedness and a head for heights are required for this hiking tour.
• The complete overview of the booked accommodation is noted on the travel confirmation/invoice and is sent to the guest by the tour operator only after the travel booking with the documents by post.

• Day 1: Individual journey to Bad Schandau
• You travel individually to Bad Schandau.
• Day 2: Bad Schandau - Hohnstein (approx. 17 km)
• From Bad Schandau you hike along the panoramic trail to Altendorf and on to the Goßdorfer Raubschloss. The trail continues through the picturesque village of Waitzdorf into the Tiefen Grund, where the Brand steps lead to the ‘Balcony of Saxon Switzerland’. You reach the castle town of Hohnstein on the Brandstraße.
• Transfer service to Bad Schandau (in category B you travel with the hiking bus, ticket included in guest card mobile).
• Day 3: Hohnstein - Rathen spa town (approx. 9 km)
• Transfer service to Hohnstein (in category B you take the hiking bus, ticket included in the mobile guest card). The short stage leads down into the Polenztal valley and immediately uphill again through the Wolfsschlucht gorge to the Hockstein viewpoint. The route continues at a leisurely pace with a beautiful distant view of the Lilienstein. Via Rathewalde, the tour leads downhill through the Amselgrund and then through the Schwedenlöcher gorge to the Bastei. The Bastei viewpoint and the impressive Bastei bridge high above the Elbe valley offer magnificent views. The descent leads over the Bastei Bridge to the spa town of Rathen.
• Transfer service to Bad Schandau (in category B you travel on the S-Bahn, ticket included in the mobile guest card).
• Day 4: Rathen spa town - Gohrisch spa town (approx. 17 km)
• Transfer service to Kurort Rathen (in category B you take the S-Bahn, ticket included in the mobile guest card). The tour leads via Weißig and Thürmsdorf to Königstein. A magnificent view from the Pfaffenstein with the Barbarine rock needle rewards the steady ascent from Königstein. You now enter the ‘realm of stones’ on the Königsweg.
• Transfer service to Bad Schandau (in category B you take the hiking bus, ticket included in the mobile guest card).
• Day 5: Circular hike in the rear part of Saxon Switzerland (approx. 13 km)
• Bad Schandau is the ideal starting point for the hike into the rear part of Saxon Switzerland. You hike through the wildly romantic Lattengrund and over steps and ladders along the ridge path to the imposing Schrammstein viewpoint and on to the Affensteine area. A historic tram, the Kirnitzschtalbahn, will take you back to Bad Schandau in comfort (included in the mobile guest card).
