Saxon Switzerland - Hiking tours
Sometimes hikes get under your skin. Then the landscape touches us in a way we can neither understand nor explain. Then the tour becomes an experience that lingers on for a long time. In the Elbe Sandstone Mountains there are these hiking trails.
Table mountains and cliffs, vistas and gorges: The erosion landscape southeast of Dresden is a natural hiker's paradise. Sometimes it's up iron steps and ladders, sometimes it's deep descents along murmuring streams, sometimes it's over soft forest floor, sometimes it's over fine sand that was the bottom of the sea 100 million years ago. A Malerweg tour is particularly impressive in winter. The landscape is even more silent and mysterious in the light of the low winter sun. And with a cup of hot tea in hand, looking down from the edge of the summit plateau of a table mountain onto the peaceful rock world of the Saxon Switzerland National Park: that is one of the great hiking moments.
Even if it doesn't always seem so when looking at the landscape photos: there is a suitable hiking trail for every hiker. Challengers look for hikes along precipices, steep ascents and descents and hike from sunrise to sunset. For the more adventurous, there are tours that can be challenging, but also include a stop at an inn along the way. Larger groups plan hiking tours with more time and on easy paths but of course with surprising views along the way. Families, on the other hand, whether with or without strollers, hike with different eyes and needs through the fairy-tale Saxon Switzerland - one of the largest natural playgrounds in Germany. Even dogs feel right at home - if you avoid stairs, ladders or gratings. You will also find barrier-free hikes for excursions with a rollator, wheelchair or handbike in Saxon Switzerland.
The choice and combination of tours is inexhaustible. Let yourself be inspired here!
