Hurry out the door and have fun
Active tourists with disabilities find a whole range of options in Saxon Switzerland: wheelchair hikes, hand cycle tours, climbing, horse riding, boat tours.
The well-developed network of trails in the Saxon Switzerland National Park region offers travellers with mobility and sensory impairments as well as people with learning and mental disabilities opportunities for relaxed walks or extended, challenging hikes. Even if not all tourist destinations are suitable for people with disabilities, many of the most beautiful places in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains can be explored on your own or with a companion.
Tours for the visually impaired: Our certified national park guide Michale Könemann, a trained carer for the elderly, offers adapted individual tours.
Note for wheelchair users: The paths in our region are typically mountainous and can vary depending on the route - sometimes they are flat, sometimes there are inclines and different surfaces. All the tours presented here have been tested with a local wheelchair user to ensure an accessible experience. Due to the natural terrain and weather conditions such as wind and rain, conditions can sometimes change. To be on the safe side, we recommend that you always have a companion with you to make the hike even more enjoyable and relaxed.
