This hike offers a beautiful view and also takes you along lesser-known paths. Sunny weather is particularly suitable for this tour. A little snow here and there adds to the charm of the paths. Here it is also necessary to have hiking poles and Grödel ("snow chains" for hiking boots) with you, as the paths around the Unger in particular can still be icy long after the dew has fallen. It is also highly recommended to save this route offline on a "smartphone" or "GPS device".
As with "Tour 28", the start of this route is at the Neustadthalle. This time, however, the route takes you almost in the opposite direction. On Struvestraße, the route heads east to the Neustädter Stadtbad. Here you can catch a glimpse of Langburkersdorf Castle as well as the Götzinger Höhe. The route continues along Lindenweg to Rugiswalde. Shortly before Rugiswalde, a beautiful view opens up to the east of the Bohemian hills around Horni Poustevna. If you start early, you can also enjoy a toboggan ride in Rugiswalde in good snow conditions.
Even though you may find it hard to believe, the path to the Unger is now not far. After crossing the Sebnitzer Straße, an asphalted and very straight path goes up the mountain before it becomes a beautiful forest path shortly before the Unger tower. The "Ungerberg" restaurant invites you to take a break here. You should definitely not miss a climb up to the Prinz Georg Tower here. After a refreshment stop, keep your eyes peeled. The Georgenweg leads into the forest directly behind the observation tower. This path can easily be overlooked on the small overview map. If you then follow the "red line", after crossing Ungerstraße, you reach Mittelweg. Follow this for a short distance and then turn off onto the "Hungerweg", which then becomes the "Tännigtweg" a little further on. Passing the fish ponds, you come back along Kirschallee to Neustädter Bad. Here you are back on familiar paths and can walk along Rugiswalder Weg and Struvestraße to the Neustadthalle.
This is a blue tour (easy tour, mostly flat, often cleared, almost always hikeable).
Hiking poles and ice crutches, which are strapped under your shoes, can increase your personal off-road fitness. This equipment can be hired from the Tourist Service in Bad Schandau.
