From the parking lot on Liliensteinstraße, we first walk back a short distance until the partially paved access path to the Sellnitz picture gallery branches off to the east. Follow this until the Sellnitz houses are in sight. Turning right at an acute angle, the path climbs gently first across a meadow and then through the forest to a crossroads, where we turn left. Shortly afterwards, the difficult access path to the northern ascent of the Lielienstein branches off to the right, but we keep straight ahead, descending slightly. With gentle ups and downs, but on easily passable forest ground, we now roll along the Kirchsteig towards Ebenheit. Especially during the foliage-free period, you can even see the Elbe and the houses of Königstein in the valley through gaps in the trees downhill. When the forest path leads onto the somewhat gravelly access road to the freight elevator on the Lilienstein, we soon reach the first houses of Ebenheit after a short and steeper ascent. From here, we use the small access road to the village for the way back. The view opens up to the south over the (invisible) Elbe valley to Königstein Fortress, soon followed by the impressive rock formation of the Lilienstein. Via the poplar-lined Kaiserstraße (called Napoleonstraße by the locals), the route now climbs slightly at the beginning back to the starting point of our tour.
Note: Instead of taking the road to the Sellnitz youth education center, you can also use the hiking trail that runs parallel to it through the forest for the first quarter of the tour, which joins the trail described above at the crossroads before the turn-off to the northern ascent.
