Kleingießhübel car park
Kleingießhübel car park
From the car park in Kleingießhübel, we leave the village on the initially steeply ascending asphalt meadow path and soon reach the forest. Here the gradient becomes less steep until, after 1.5 km, the road becomes steeper again towards a large crossroads. Here we continue straight ahead on the now slightly ascending Alte Tetschener Straße until we reach the next large crossroads at a rest area called Kalkbude after another 1.2 km. On the Zschirnsteinweg, which branches off to the right here, the surface gets worse and worse over time. The following 500 metre long passage is washed out except for the coarse and loose gravel. Even though the terrain flattens out again afterwards, there are still short, steep sections with rock slabs to negotiate until you reach the view. The summit offers a beautiful view and a small refuge. We use the same route for the way back.
A17 junction Pirna - follow B172a direction Pirna (first exit Pirna) until Königstein, at the roundabout take the first exit - Bielatalstraße - follow the road, then turn right onto Cunnersdorfer Str. (later Pfaffendorfer Str.) - follow the road through Cunnersdorf - follow S169, then becomes Krippenstraße - before Kleingießhübel turn right onto Dorfstraße and you are at the car park
Free parking at the car park in Kleingießhübel (only chargeable for camping caravans)
Train S1 to Bad Schandau National Park station, then change to bus 251 to Kleingießhübel Wendeplatz
