Take the time when the sun casts shadows. Combine your walk through the village with fun and the joy of discovery. In doing so, elicit the unique and mysterious fluidity of a sundial. Their variety of types and shapes is reminiscent of the historical predecessors of modern timepieces. The inclusion of local objects, materials, motifs, personalities and events as creative elements of the clocks characterises what is special and unmistakable about the Krippen Sundial Trail. Each clock is individually described at its location. The leisurely time run begins and ends on the Krippen "market square". The logo shows you the way from clock to clock.
The starting point of the small circular route is Krippen's market square. From here, follow the small path under the railway subway to the Elbe cycle path. Turn right and follow the cycle path past more sundials to the "Ziegelscheune" inn. Here you will find the first turning point on the circular route. Along the Elbe you now head downstream again in the direction of Mittelhangweg. Walk uphill until you cross the Berghangweg. After the fantastic view over Krippen and the Elbe valley, leave the Berghangweg and head towards the Bächelweg. Most of the sundials are located on this path, which runs parallel to the main road. The second turning point is sundial 11a. From here, follow the main road up to the Krippen church. Then follow the Bächelweg back in the direction of the Elbe. At the "Zur Eiche" inn, cross the small stream and then follow the main road for about 50 metres until you reach the last stations of the circular route on the left. To get back to the starting point of the tour, follow the path downhill again in the direction of the "Zur Eiche" inn and turn left there in the direction of the market square.
