Short tour over the Rauenstein

From the ferry station in Rathen, the path initially leads towards the Elbweg road. Follow this over the railroad crossing until you see a "red line" junction on the left. This is the Rauensteinweg, which you then follow until you reach the ascent to the Rauenstein. On this route you pass the Laasenstein, for example. From the fork in the path to the ascent of the Rauenstein, the path continues parallel to the Malerweg. Once you reach the top, it is definitely worth making a detour to the view on the left-hand side. The Rauenstein rock restaurant is also located there. Immediately behind it, you reach a wonderful viewpoint. After this detour, follow the signs for the Malerweg along the ridge path of the Rauenstein. This leads once over the entire, almost one kilometer long mountain ridge, accompanied by a magnificent 360-degree panorama of rocks, table mountains, Elbe valley, forests, fields and villages. After the descent, follow the path on the right downhill back to Oberrathen.
