The 42-kilometre stage one starts in Stadt Wehlen and takes you along the left bank of the Elbe through Saxon Switzerland to Bad Schandau.

Rock it: A detour to the Nikolsdorfer Wände provides a pure Elbe sandstone feeling. The Leupoldishain forest adventure centre opposite is also worth a visit, not only for the adventure stations in the outdoor area, but also for the panoramic view of Königstein Fortress and the Lilienstein.
