Starting from the car park / bus stop (Cunnerdorf Landweg), walk to the Bockmühle, which offers refreshments and delicious food before or after the hike. Crossing the bridge, you will see the path leading along the Polenz on your left. You can follow the course of the stream over a bridge, across meadows or above it. In the spring, numerous snowflake flowers bloom here. During this period, the valley is transformed into a special visitor highlight. At all other times of the year it is rather quiet and dreamy here. You keep following the path. Do not take the Märzenwegbecherweg, which branches off to the left, but continue straight uphill. At the following crossroads, a path leads uphill at a steep angle. A signpost Wendischauer Weg points you in the right direction.
Once you have climbed the metres on the forest path, a panorama of fields and meadows opens up more and more. Continue on and follow the Wendischauer Rundweg. You pass a small pond biotope and a private mini bathing lake. Then you will soon enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view. Time seems to have stood still here. With a view of Stolpen Castle, it is not difficult to imagine how farmers cultivated their fields up here hundreds of years ago. Soon you reach the village of Cunnersdorf. Turn left onto the asphalted, car-free road and follow it. Here it is worth making a detour to the Steinert farm shop. How happy the cows live, from whose milk delicious cheese is made, can be observed on the surrounding pastures. You hike back along the path into the forest and down into the Polenztal valley or to your car park or bus stop.
Note for those arriving by public transport: The bus stop is in Cunnersdorf. So you already start on the asphalted, car-free road in Cunnersdorf and head towards the Bockmühle.
