A circular trail starts in the Kirnitzschtal valley at the Neumannmühle car park. From there, follow the yellow trail markings into the Großer Zschand. A path to the "Spitzsteinschluchten" gorges soon branches off to the right. Once at the top, hikers must turn left at the crossroads. A forest path leads straight ahead for almost a kilometre before turning right at the signpost and then immediately left again. At a crossroads, a sign points to the next destination, the "Hinterer Raubschloss" or "Winterstein". However, the ascent to the "Raubschloss" via a free-standing steel ladder is only recommended for really brave families. You should first follow the red-marked path for about 50 metres and turn right. There is a green triangle on the left-hand side. This mountain path leads into a basin and marks the start of the Bärenfangwändesteig. It climbs almost vertically for about 200 metres. The kids will need help again and again. It's important to judge your offspring correctly here: This tour is not for scaredy-cats!At the top, the green-marked path leads past a fantastic view over the plateau of the Bärenfangwände. You soon reach the "Kleiner Kuhstall", a rock gate on the left-hand side. Shortly after this, turn left and walk downhill on the "Roßsteig" for almost three kilometres to the "Altes Zeughaus" restaurant. From there, the yellow trail leads through the Großer Zschand back to the car park.
