This hike begins in the spa town of Rathen on the right bank of the Elbe. Shortly after the ferry landing stage, follow the path to the right over a small bridge and then continue up the Elbe along the asphalted footpath towards the Lilienstein, which you can already see in front of your eyes. After passing the last houses, you reach the actual hiking trail (blue line) and pass an information board for the Saxon Switzerland National Park. From here, the path leads comfortably and shaded along the banks of the Elbe. After about 15 minutes, there is a nice rest area with a bench on the right near a log cabin. Here it is also worth taking a look back towards the spa town of Rathen and the rocks of the Basteige area. After about 10 minutes, the path branches off to the left to the Lottersteig. The path now climbs steeply uphill. At the top, cross the road and follow the signs to the Lilienstein (blue line). For the ascent to the Lilienstein, take the southern ascent. Once at the top, the path leads across the table mountain and past numerous viewpoints. Shortly after the ascent, it is worth taking a short detour to the left to a first viewpoint. The descent is via the northern descent. Once at the bottom, the trail continues along the "yellow line" markings towards Prossen. Once you reach Prossen on the Elbe, you should take another look back at the Lilienstein. Caspar David Friedrich also immortalized this view in a drawing. Back on the main road in Prossen, follow the "Gelber Strich" trail to Bad Schandau. This is followed by a longer section along the road. Shortly after the Bad Schandau bridge, you return to the Elbe cycle path. The tour ends at the market square in Bad Schandau.
