Cunnersdorf, a district of the spa town Gohrisch, is the starting point of this hike. It begins at the stop "Deutsches Haus" or at the parking lot in Cunnersdorf and leads immediately to the right in the direction of Cunnersdorfer Bad along the nature trail. After the forest bath we turn from the road to the right and continue to follow the marking diagonal green line. After about 300 meters we reach a clearing rising to the left, at the end of which the trail climbs steeply to the left to the Katzstein. After a few meters and an iron ladder, you reach the elongated ridge. The Signal, a rock pulpit with a great view, is the first highlight on the right. Walking southwards along the ridge, you pass the Katzfels with a steep ladder and weather vane. The platform at the top is quite narrow and may require a few minutes of waiting, if hikers are just at the top. Halfway up the ladder you can spot the cat carved in stone.
The path continues to Schneebergblick, another vantage point. Now the trail changes sides between towering rocks and gently descends to a wide forest path. A little later, the ascent to Rotstein begins. Arrived on the Rotstein, there is a good opportunity for a picnic, since now almost half of the route has been hiked. Afterwards, the trail descends again on a forest path.
This runs mostly level after a right turn at a sharp angle at an intersection. Follow the root path for about 4 kilometers until it turns into a narrower, unpaved path and you pass a refuge with a rest area. Here you climb half-right and follow a path until you reach a sign indicating the "Spitzer Stein". To reach this vantage point, iron ladders must be climbed again. Back on the hiking trail, continue in the direction of Cunnersdorf. Soon you will reach the nature trail again and follow the yellow line and later the red line (Winterleitenstraße) until you reach the village.
