Natural stage in the Bärsgrund
In the 1950s and 1960s, many holidaymakers spent their holidays in Leupoldishain and the surrounding area. In order to offer them a cultural programme, the idea of building a natural stage was born. The natural stage was opened on 21 June 1959 with a festive event. The number of visitors was huge - the 1200 seats were not enough. Renowned artists and ensembles subsequently performed here.
The Waldbühne was revitalised in 2011. In cooperation with the Neustadt forest district, the Leupoldishain local history association and the volunteer fire brigade, the natural stage has since been used for various small events, including theatre performances, concerts, choir performances and environmental education programmes.
