Museum Bad Schandau

Short facts

The town of Bad Schandau imparts knowledge of the past and present of the Upper Elbe Valley region in its local history section.

In a permanent cultural history exhibition, impressive exhibits on the history of the city, shipping on the Elbe and tourism are on display and information is provided on the development of 100 years of Saxon mountaineering.

To mark the 150th anniversary of mountaineering in Saxon Switzerland, the "Climbing Worlds" exhibition on the ground floor has been renewed. Exhibits, photos and songs by the expedition traveller and ethnologist can be admired in the "Erich Wustmann" area.
