Ev.-Luth. Peter-Paul Church Sebnitz

Short facts

Ev.-Luth. Peter-Paul-Kirche Sebnitz with historical shadow play

The year of foundation and consecration of St Peter and St Paul's Church are obscure. It is assumed that a small church already existed in Sebnitz in the 13th century, whose patron saints were the apostles Peter and Paul. The large influx of new settlers soon made it necessary to enlarge the church, which was completed towards the end of the 15th century. The late Gothic outer walls and buttresses of the choir have been preserved from this period to this day.
The historical shadow play has also been on display again in the Peter-Pauls-Kirche Sebnitz since 1st Advent 2003.

A ramp is located at the main entrance. the doors (> 90 cm) can be opened with both wings. The nave and altar area are completely at ground level
