The village of Maxen is located 18 km south of Dresden on the ridge between the Lockwitz and Müglitz valleys.
The pavilion stands on the edge of the slope between Maxen and Mühlbach. It can only be reached on foot - from Mühlbach (Müglitztalbahn station) via the pedestrian wooden bridge up steps, keep left towards Maxen or directly from Maxen via Winzerweg.
