Hinterhermsdorf
National park community and family-friendly holiday resort
Thanks to its unique location and the diversity of its offerings, Hinterhermsdorf invites visitors to go on excursions, hikes and experience nature, but also to discover crafts, tradition, history and culture.
Hinterhermsdorf is a district of Sebnitz and the first National Park community in Saxon Switzerland to be certified as a "family-friendly holiday resort". It offers families the best conditions for a relaxing, active and nature-oriented stay. The palette ranges from grandiose panoramic views from the Weifberg Tower to leisure facilities with spacious sunbathing areas and water playgrounds to guided discovery and puzzle tours. Young and old alike can experience an exciting and educational nature adventure at the "Waldhusche" recreational area. One of the most popular destinations in the region is the boat trip on the Upper Lock. Visitors glide almost silently by boat on the Kirnitzsch through the almost untouched, bizarre rocky landscape in the core zone of the national park. A well-developed network of cycling and hiking trails invites you to take tours through Saxon and Bohemian Switzerland. Well-tracked cross-country ski trails in peaceful surroundings make Hinterhermdorf a worthwhile holiday destination in winter as well.
