Wolfgang Lasch has been performing Punch and Judy shows since the early 1980s. He studied historical Punch and Judy texts, adopted the characters: witch, devil, robber, magician and "Polizip'l", as he calls the policeman, filtered what was still contemporary about the texts, combined it with the children's current lives and thus continued this tradition
of the puppet show. Laschi's Punch and Judy show is crude and original, but not brutal or even obscene. Words and plot wit dominate and put the "punchy" Punch and Judy arguments in the right place.
