1725 on the Königstein...
Two years earlier, this giant barrel was already being built with great enthusiasm in the cellar of the Magdalenenburg, which is carved deep into the rock of the Königstein. Augustus the Strong, who commissioned the project, took the opportunity to come to the inauguration party on the Königstein himself with a large entourage. Such a high-ranking visitor was a logistical challenge. The equipment - party tents and furniture, food and drink - was brought along. The court band played and court jesters entertained the guests.
